The process to obtain a natural gas supply can be handled in two ways: (1) either NGC designs, procures and constructs the pipeline or (2) NGC designs the pipeline and the customer procures and constructs the pipeline.
If ETCL’s services are enlisted, option 2 would be used, that accelerates delivery of the gas supply, reduces cost, and tailors the design to fit the customer’s requirement.
For example, in one project, the customer asked for a compact metering facility on his premises, as car parking space was a premium.
NGC proposed a standard natural gas supply facility that contained pressure-reduction and odourization equipment.
ETCL proposed a much smaller metering facility supplied by odourized, low pressure gas, tapped from an existing, nearby station.
